Since 2015, Carboor Farms has been dedicated to crafting & sourcing premium Aussie grown Nuts & nut-based products. The nut shop offers a diverse selection, including flavored nuts, extra virgin nut oils, and nut butter, all made from the finest hazelnuts grown on their own farms or sourced through long-term partnerships with growers across North East Victoria and beyond.

To scale at a sustainable pace. Since Carboor grows, manufactures, and packages his nut products and nuts sourced from other Australian farms, scaling his brand to millions a year overnight wasn’t achievable as it is just Ben and his wife Maxine running the business.

Carboors owner and founder Ben Barrow and the team at Cliqued Digital implemented the ‘Scale Strategy’ which clearly outlined how much we make from paid advertising based on the last 12 months of data, what it costs to acquire customers through paid advertising and how much we need to invest in each platform in order to acquire the amount of customers needed to generate his goal revenue figures for 2023. 

Throughout 2023 we incrementally scaled Google Ads budgets each month of the year in line with the plan, ensuring consistent re-investment of his online store profit each month. Whilst a big focus was on new customer acquisition, we know a big part of Carboor Farm’s business is repeat purchases, his product is so good he retains more than 60% of all customers who purchase from his business, pretty cool right? But how? Clever customer retention strategies and a game-changing product. 

Whilst the scale strategy was in full-swing and lots of new customers were trying his nuts for the first time, our email specialist was working behind the scenes, curating a well-oiled customer retention strategy through Klaviyo email marketing. This included full migration from Mailchimp to Kalviyo, set up and implementation of 5 fundamental flows and 1-3 email campaigns per month, not just focusing on selling to them but providing his database with a plethora of value from customer recipes, BTS business updates, product highlights and competitions, ensuring his community was not just interacting with sales focused emails but value-based too. 

At the end of 2023 Ben was ready to take on more orders, whilst we hadnt hit the ceiling with increasing budgets on Google, we knew Meta advertising would be able to open up his brand to a brand new audience of people who potentially didn’t know you could buy farm fresh nuts online! Our hunch was correct…with 2 days of starting meta ads his online store sales had doubled. 

Now our 2024 strategy is similar, however, Ben now has to focus further on streamlining the processing and packing aspect of the online store.

Ben could not be happier with what we’ve been able to achieve in such a short amount of time, he never believed his online store could generate more than his B2B - now he has over 4000 online store customers. 

In 2023 his online store grew by over 137% in online store revenue, already so far in 2024 we have again been able to achieve 133% growth in comparison to 2023!
